  1. What is the minimum age to drive a rental vehicle?
  • Minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21, however an underage driver fee will apply for all drivers under 25 years of age. (see our terms and conditions)
  1. What proof of identification (CPR/ID)/ documentation I must bring when I collect my car?
  • CPR/ID or Passport
  • Driving License- all named drivers to be in possession of a valid driving license as per Bahrain Law for not less than one year. If your license is printed in non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, etc.), it must be accompanied by an international driver's license and if is originating from countries not part of the international driver's license treaty must also be validated by Kingdom of Bahrain Traffic Department
  1. Can I add additional driver ?
  • Yes, and a fee will be applied for each additional driver. Drivers must be present at time of pick-up or at any point of the rental (main driver must be present as well) with a valid driver's license.
  1. What deposit would I have to provide?
  • In general, a pre-authorization of a minimum of BHD 150 (see age limits) amount will be taken for security purposes from your valid credit card. These funds will not be available to you during the rental.
  1. What Deposit methods are accepted?
  • All major credit cards: American Express, MasterCard, VisaCard- the name on the credit card needs to be the same as the primary driver of the rental car. If you book and pay for the car in advance you will need to make sure that the credit card that you paid with is present when you pick up the vehicle along with the owner of the card.
  • NO debit cards, cash, cheques or any other means of deposits are accepted other than mentioned above.
  1. How long after my rental finishes will it take for my deposit/ approval to reach my account?
  • Please allow up to 10 business days for the funds to clear and become available in your account.
  1. What Payments methods are accepted?
  • All major credit cards (American Express, MasterCard, VisaCard) and Debit Cards- the name on the credit/debit card needs to be the same as the primary driver of the rental car. If you book and pay for the car in advance you will need to make sure that the credit/debit card that you paid with is present when you pick up the vehicle along with the owner of the card.
  • Cash- Bahrain Dinars only
  1. Can I book a vehicle and pay for it even if I will not be the person who will be driving it?
  • NO, if you will not be present at the vehicle collection moment as the credit card holder who is paying for the booking deposit must be the main driver, as this will be stated on the Rental Agreement.
  • YES, if you will be present at vehicle collection moment.
  1. Can I pay for a reservation using a company credit card
  • In order to use a company card the name listed on the method of payment must match that of the primary renter listed on the reservation and rental agreement. KDR also offers corporate accounts with direct billing, for more information please contact us.
  1. Can I pay for my rental from KDR in advance?
  • Yes, KDR offers prepaid rates. These rates offer the benefit of being discounted, but fees do apply upon cancellation. Also, the name on the card used to pay must match the name on the reservation and be present during pick-up of the rental with the card holder.
  1. What if I want to cancel my reservation?
  • You can cancel your reservation either by logging onto ‘My KDR account’ or contacting our reservations team; info@kdrbahrain.com
  1. Can I choose a specific make and model of car after making my reservation?
  • Specialty(commercial) car categories such as the 22 seats Bus ( Toyota Coaster) will be guaranteed since they only contain one car model. When reserving non-specialty vehicles, you are reserving the car group and not a specific model.
  1. Can vehicles be delivered?
  • KDR offers delivery/collection service free of charge, subject to prior request minimum 48 hours before service, drivers availability and submission of all required documents. Please contact us at info@kdrbahrain.com . Any other related requests will be handled accordingly with operation.
  1. Can I drive the vehicle out of Kingdom of Bahrain territory?
  • No, territorial restrictions apply for further information please contact us.
  1. Is smoking permitted in the KDR rental vehicles?
  • No, KDR maintains a 100% smoke-free fleet and any type of smoking (pipe, cigarette, cigar) is prohibited in all KDR vehicles. Just as renters are charged a fee for cleaning the car's interior for excessive stains, dirt or soiling attributable to the renter’s use, customers will be asked an additional charge if the car smells of smoke when it is returned.
  1. Are pets allowed in the car?
  • Pets are allowed in rental vehicles. Customers must return their rental car in clean condition and free of pet hair to avoid cleaning fees.
  1. What is included in the reservation price?
  • Unless otherwise stated, the rental quote/price displayed on the final page when booking online includes:
  • Daily rate for vehicle only; fuel charges are not included (see fuel policy)
  • Statutory taxes
  • Additional extras (if selected)
  • All surcharges and fees (if applicable)
  1. Can the price of my rental change after my reservation booking has been confirmed?
  • The price of the rental can change if you add, agree and sign for any optional products at the time of your rental. It could also change if you return the car at a different date, or time then specified at the time of reservation/ rental.
  1. What is a pay later reservation?
  • A pay later reservation does not require full payment until the time of pick-up. These reservations tend to cost more than pre-paid reservations but are more flexible and offer free cancellation and changes.
  1. What is a prepaid reservation?
  • A pre-paid reservation requires full payment for your rental upon booking, regardless of whether you confirmed your booking: online (via our website), through a third party/ Agency (paid to the Agency). If you cancel a prepaid booking, a cancellation fee will apply as on first day of the rental at a daily rate.
  1. Is coverage included in my rental booking?
  • Vehicles are rented with Comprehensive Insurance with a maximum of liability calculated accordingly with the age limits; after submission of valid police report. Insurance Liability fees are mentioned onto our terms and conditions.
  1. What if I am under 25 years of age, do I have to pay an extra fee to rent a car?
  • If you rent a car which we allow renters 21-24 years old to drive, then you are required to pay an Age Excess Fee for being a young driver. This fee is mentioned onto our terms and conditions.
  1. What about second or additional drivers, are they covered?
  • All additional drivers need to be added to the Rental Agreement (RA) to ensure they are not in violation of the rental agreement terms and conditions. They must qualify with the age requirements to drive the vehicle type. A charge per day for every additional driver would be applicable.
  1. What happens if the vehicle is damaged during my rental period?
  • If a new damage is found on the vehicle at the return, we will investigate the damage and obtain authorized body shop damage quotation. You will be charged the applicable cost of repair. We encourage you contacting our team as soon the accident happened and request assistance.
  1. Who is responsible for parking tickets and traffic violations?
  • The renter of the vehicle is solely responsible for any parking and/or traffic violations incurred during their rental period. All customers should pay their traffic violations immediately to avoid additional fees. If traffic violation is not paid within 48 hours from being reported by our rental agents via email and/or phone, the customer will be responsible for the amount of the citation plus an administrative fee of BHD 10/.
  1. Why am I receiving information about my parking tickets and traffic violation after vehicle return or delayed compared with the day it happened?
  • We must rely on the traffic authorities to provide us with the information in relation to all violations. Because of this, we can only notify you as they are received to our office.
